GIMPA International Programmes & Developments Office holds International Day & Education Fair

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), through the Office of International Programmes and Development (OIPD), successfully organised its International Day and Education Fair on 25th March 2026. The event was held at the Moot Court, GIMPA, commencing at 10:00 a.m. It was organised under the theme:“Global Citizenship: Building Bridges Through Education.”. The programme formed part of GIMPA’s strategic efforts to promote internationalisation, intercultural engagement, and global academic collaboration.

The International Day was convened to reaffirm GIMPA’s commitment to fostering an inclusive, globally engaged academic environment. The programme aimed to Celebrate cultural diversity within the GIMPA community, promote intercultural understanding and dialogue, strengthen institutional partnerships with local and international collaborators,  and provide a platform for advancing internationalisation through academic and experiential engagement.

As articulated during the programme, global citizenship was positioned as a framework for understanding and engaging with diversity through respect for pluralism, shared values, and mutual learning. The inclusion of both an Education Fair and Food Fair was intentional designed to facilitate interaction, cultural expression, and a sense of belonging among participants.

The programme recorded an attendance of over 170 participants, comprising students (local and international), faculty and staff of GIMPA, representatives from sister universities in Ghana and abroad, and Invited guests and institutional partners.

Students represented over 18 African countries, including, Nigeria, Liberia, Senegal, the Gambia, Togo, Benin, DR Congo, Mali, Burkina Faso, Kenya. This wide representation reflected the growing diversity and international outlook of GIMPA.

The programme featured a blend of academic, cultural, and engagement activities. Key components included Panel discussions on ‘enhancing effective international  collaborations’, and Education Fair showcasing academic and partnership opportunities. Others include Cultural exhibitions and country displays and Food Fair highlighting diverse cuisines and Networking and interaction sessions.

Observed Highlights (from Event Proceedings) include strong student engagement, particularly during cultural displays and exhibitions. There was also Vibrant cultural performances, reflecting a rich diversity of traditions across participating countries.

The programme Strengthened intercultural understanding and student integration, Enhanced GIMPA’s visibility as a globally engaged institution and Deepened relationships with existing partners and opened avenues for new collaborations

The programme directly supported GIMPA’s strategic priorities, particularly in Human Resource Development, Research and Innovation, Global Engagement and Visibility and Stakeholder Collaboration

The successful organisation of the International Day 2026 demonstrates GIMPA’s strong commitment to internationalisation and global engagement. The high level of participation, diversity of representation, and quality of activities underscore the importance of such initiatives in positioning GIMPA as a leading institution within the African and global higher education space.
